I am Dr. Simone Leavell-Bruce, a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. I earned a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky in 2006. I earned a masters degree and my doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. I completed both a predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at an APA accredited location, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, NC.
I provide evidence-based psychological services using Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP), CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. I also train, supervise, and present to other clinicians on how to properly assess and treat OCD. My work is grounded in a social justice framework, with a focus on the mental health impacts of racism and discrimination. I value a collaborative, person-centered approach that honors culture and identity. I am proud to serve clients via telehealth across the country.
Other areas of clinical expertise include health/illness anxiety, adjustment disorder, social anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB).
I am deeply committed to addressing the mental health disparities. I prioritize culturally responsive care and honor diverse identities and lived experiences
